Software Update: Miranda IM 0.8.2

Last Friday the version 0.8.2 of Miranda IM was released. Miranda IM, an open source instant messaging program for Windows, offers standard support to the networks of ICQ, irc, MSN, AIM, Jabber and Yahoo, among others. The download is less than 1.5 megabytes in size and for that you get a bare and light program. However, the functionality and appearance of the program are more than 350 addons and plugins completely customizable. It is thus one of the most customizable im clients for Windows. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

Enhancements

• Improved account deletion support
• MSN: Non IM contacts removed from the contact list and database
• Yahoo: Removed “Show Profile” for non Yahoo contacts

Bug fixes

• Fix for ssl errors when client tries to send on closed connection
• AIM: File transfer fixes
• IRC: Own actions were not always shown
• Jabber: Random disconnect issue caused by timeouts
• Jabber: Fixed encrypted messages being empty (XEP-0027)
