Download Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 1

Software giant Microsoft has released the first service pack for SQL Server 2005 released. Service Pack 1 is from this page for Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003, among others, as well as the IA-64 and x64 versions of WIndows XP and Windows Server 2003. For convenience, Microsoft a Knowledge Base article made available containing the bug fixes and new features that will be implemented after SP1 is installed. For now, the company says the following:

Service Pack 1 for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is now available. You can use these packages to upgrade any of the following SQL Server 2005 editions:

• Enterprise
• Enterprise Evaluation
• Developer
• standard
• Work group

Note: SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 1 (SP1) is designed to run on Windows Vista and Windows Server “Longhorn,” starting with the February 2006 Community Technology Preview (CTP) release.
