Download MediaWiki 1.40

MediaWiki is an open source wiki engine that can be used to create and manage content for the Wikimedia Foundation websites, such as Wikipedia† Wiktionary† Wikisource† Wikibooks and Wikiquote† Extensive documentation can here are being found. A few days ago Source Forge released version 1.4 of this software. The full release notes can be found on this one page are found, but these are briefly the new capabilities in this release:

New features

• ‘Recentchanges Patrol’ to mark new edits that haven’t yet been viewed.
• New, searchable deletion/upload/protection logs
• Image gallery generation (Special:Newimages and tag)
• SVG rasterization support (requires external support tools)
• Users can select from the available localizations to override the default user interface language.
• Traditional/Simplified Chinese conversion support
• rel=”nofollow” support to combat linkspam
