Software Update: Media Player Classic – Home Cinema 1.9.24

In July 2017, version 1.7.13 of Media Player Classic – Home Cinema was released and the developers indicated that they would continue no more new versions would release. However, the source code is open source and a developer known by the name of clsid on the Doom9 website, who was involved with mpc-hc for a long time, now occasionally releases new ‘unofficial’ versions. These mainly contain minor improvements and the latest versions of the LAV Filters and MediaInfo are always included. The changelog for version 1.9.24 can be found below.

• Updated MediaInfo DLL to version 22.09

Changes/Additions/Improvements:

• Re-added support for nested M3U/PLS inside M3U playlist
• Store device name of selected fullscreen monitor in addition to the display name. This allows selecting the correct monitor in the situation where Windows shuffles display names around.
• Properly handle NONE as value for YCbCr Matrix subtitle header
• Added freetype font rendering path as fallback for characters that fail to render with GDI.
• Support loading subtitles from subfolder “\subs\FILENAME”
