Download MacPorts 1.9.0

A new stable release of MacPorts was released last week with version number 1.9.0. This open source project aims to provide an easy way to install open source software on a Mac OS X machine. It is therefore comparable to Fink and Port collection for the *BSD distributions. The release notes for version 1.9.0 can be found below.

MacPorts 1.9.0 now available

The final release of MacPorts 1.9.0 has been made available via the usual methods:

• self update
• DMGs for 10.4, 10.5, and 10.6
• a source tarball
• a tag in subversion
