Software Update: LAME 3.96
Even the project’s biggest opponent has to hand in LAME: for a program that claims not to be an MP3 encoder (the name stands for LAME Ain’t an Mp3 Encoder), the software can build damn nice sounding files with that extension. The developers of the open source project have already made it to version 3.96 of their program, which earned that version number with two betas, plus the following improvements:
Notes: This version is featuring some quality improvments compared to the previous one. We also fixed several bugs, including some fatal ones
Changes:
- new quantization selection mode (used in ABR/CBR)
- set sfscale for ABR/CBR up to 160kbps
