Software update: KaZaA Media Desktop 1.4

dioser informed us that the Kazaa Media Desktop had a new version number. I found it remarkable in the release notes that there is talk about ‘More privacy protection’. Would this mean that they have left the spyware for what it is?

Release notes are as follows:

  • Right clicking selects — no need to first left then right click
  • Installer recognizes old install dir and running KaZaA
  • Completed downloads dissappear and get renamed
  • Progress bar overshoots
  • More crash bugs solved
  • Better performance on Windows XP
• Other small changes :-
  • No more advertisement in the Theater
  • Spell checked the system tray text
  • Search fields are better formatted
  • Column lengths are better formatted
  • Ordering columns is now really saved
