Software update: ffdshow 2004-04-18

The video codec ffdshow was upgraded to version 2004-04-18 last week. The version number also gives away the day the release was compiled. The program is a DirectShow filter that can play DivX, XviD, WMV, MPEG1, and MPEG2 files. FFDShow uses the libav codec from the ffmpeg project for video decompression, mplayer’s postprocessing code for improved visual quality of low bitrate files, and is based on XviD’s original DirectShow filter.
