Software update: doPDF 8.0 build 906

Spread the love

Softland released version 8.0 of doPDF last week and already the first update is ready for you. This program installs as a printer driver and makes it possible to easily create PDF documents from any program with a print function. The software is free for private and commercial use, does not require Ghostscript to do its job, and does not add any watermark or advertisement. Only in the screen for choosing the location to which the PDF document should be written, there is an entry to novaPDF. This is a similar program from the same makers, with more extensive options, but it is not free. The changelog for this release looks like this:

New:

  • Add-ins for Microsoft Office that allow one-click PDF conversion from Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Publisher
  • Bookmarks from Microsoft Word are recognized and converted to PDF bookmarks (only when using the add-in)
  • Hidden links in Microsoft Office documents are recognized and converted to active links in the PDF file (only when using the add-in)
  • Modified installer to show add-in installation as an optional step

Fixed:

  • Installer failed if Windows username had two names
  • Check for updates was verifying daily even if it was set to weekly
  • Version history was showing changes for previous build numbers (older than current build)
  • Corrected requirement information and added help sections for the add-in conversion in the help file
