Software Update: BWMeter 5.1.0

With the program BWMer, the data traffic to and from the computer or on the network can be monitored. That in itself is not special, but BWMeter can also analyze the data packets. This way it can see where they come from, where they are going and what protocol they are using. Furthermore, the program can distinguish between local and internet traffic and it is possible to use filters to, for example, monitor or limit data traffic to and from certain internet pages. In version 5, a firewall has been added to the program, which makes it possible to monitor or limit the traffic per application. DeskSoft released version 5.1.0 on Thursday and the following changes have been made since the previous entry in the Meuktracker:

Changes in version 5.1.0:

• Fix: new network driver version (fixes problems when returning from hibernation under Vista)
• Fix: warning when wrong (old) version of the network driver is detected

Changes in version 5.0.3:

• Fix: improved firewall functionality
• Fix: evaluation for 30 days now possible when older major version was installed before
