Software Update: BitTorrent 4.4.1
Version 4.4.0 of BitTorrent for Windows, released the day before yesterday, was found to contain two annoying issues that forced Bram Cohen to quickly release a new version of his BitTorrent client. The first problem occurred during installation and caused a ‘Could not initialize plugins directory’ error. The other problem had to do with Data Execution Prevention, a combination of hardware and software that prevents the execution of malicious software code. The changelog therefore looks like this:
Changes in this release:
- no longer violates Windows hardware DEP
- Windows installer no longer says “Could not initialize plugins directory”
