Barcode Writer in Pure Postscript is, as the name clearly shows, a barcode generator for level 2 Postscript. A barcode is created according to the specifications of the user by the ‘postscript interpreter’, for example a printer or Ghostscript. The ASCII-mode encoder for data matrix was improved to compact pairs of digits.

An EDIFACT-mode autoencoder was added to the data matrix encoder.

Version 2009-06-03:
A byte-mode autoencoder was added to the datamatrix encoder and set as default.

Version 2009-05-20:
A byte-mode-only autoencoder was added to the pdf417 encoder to simplify the use of the pdf417 encoder for common tasks.

Version 2009-05-17:
A byte-mode-only autoencoder was added to the azteccode encoder to simplify the use of the azteccode encoder for common tasks.
