Software Update: Amahi 4.2

Amahi was provided with an update to version 4.2 last week. Amahi is described by the developers as an hda, or a Home Digital Assistant. Amahi runs on Fedora and offers, among other things, shared data storage, automatic backups, secure VPN, shared applications such as the calendar of iCal or Outlook, streaming audio and video and its own wiki. More information about the program can here are being found. From the announcement we can conclude that in version 4.2 in particular the performance has improved considerably:

Amahi 4.2: Burning rubber and HD streaming

Included in this release (platform version 4.2) are massive improvements in performance for writes (300% to nearly 700%) and modest performance in reads (15% to 20%) to the production Samba settings. Also included are minor tweaks to some messages that were not accurate.
