Software Update: Adobe Flash Player 10.1 RC

Spread the love

With Adobe Flash Player it is possible to view and play Flash content, mainly swf files, on the computer. Popular video sites such as YouTube and Google Video, among others, offer their visitors the opportunity to play videos with the stand-alone Flash Player. Adobe released the first release candidate of version 10.1 a few days ago with 10.1.51.96 being the exact version number for Solaris and 10.1.53.7 for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. The complete list of notes for this release is in this pdf document to read; the corresponding abbreviated announcement looks like this:

Flash Player 10.1

This is a developer prerelease version of the Adobe® Flash® Player 10.1 software for Windows, Macintosh, Linux, and Solaris. It is being made available for developers to test their content to ensure new features function as expected, existing content plays back correctly, and there are no compatibility issues. Consumers can try the prerelease of Flash Player 10.1 to preview hardware acceleration of video on supported Windows PCs and x86-based netbooks. The Flash Player 10.1 prerelease is available in all supported languages; however, the prerelease installers are only in English and we can only accept feedback in English at this time. Release versions of Flash Player are available from the Flash Player Download Center on Adobe.com.

Important: All users should uninstall any currently installed Flash Player before installing the latest prerelease. See below and the Release Notes for more information.
