Download 7-Zip 9.03 alpha
The developers of 7-Zip released version 9.03 alpha of their eponymous archiver on Saturday. The remarkable jump in version number, initiated two weeks ago, is explained by the fact that the first number in the version number now represents the year of release. Available under the gpl license, 7-Zip can handle a variety of compression formats, including zip, cab, rar, arj, lzh, chm, gzip, bzip2, z, tar, cpio, rpm, deb, and of course the self-developed 7z. Furthermore, the software is capable of opening iso files and Nsis installation packages. Below is what has changed since version 9.01 alpha:
