Download 7-Zip 4.49 beta

A new beta release of the open source archiving program 7-Zip has just been released with version number 4.49. This program can handle the compression formats zip, cab, rar, arj, lzh, chm, gzip, bzip2, z, tar, cpio, rpm, deb and of course the self-developed 7z. In addition, it is also able to open iso files and nsis installation packages. Since version 4.31, there are separate versions for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows. The most important innovation in this release is support for Microsoft’s Windows Imaging Format. This is a disk image file type that is used on the Windows Vista installation DVD, among others.
