Software update: µTorrent 2.0.1 build 18723 beta

A new version in the 2.0.x development arm of µTorrent was released on Wednesday. New in version 2.0.1 is improved uTP performance, with reduced overhead and improved speed, and the program now handles multi-bit torrents better. Also works now BEP22 as it should. BEP22 is a way to quickly find local trackers, in order to cut down on network traffic. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

New features:

  • Complete_ago extension handshake
  • Account for clock skew in delay measurements of uTP
  • Queueup/down/top/bottom commands for WebUI

  • Only close files that haven’t been used for a while periodically (closing all files could interact badly with indexers)
  • Disable transparent graph legend by default

  • Column size being 0, and invisible
  • Fixed uTP packet size bug on local networks
  • Fixed uTP fast-resend counter wrapping bug
  • Fixed uTP advertised window size bug
  • Dismissing pairing dialog is now interpreted as no. “no” is also the default button
  • Fixed bug where Bandwidth Management checkbox sometimes didn’t work
