Shenmue III will be released on August 27, 2019. The game will be released for the PlayStation 4 and PC. Simultaneously with announcing the release date, the developer released a new trailer.
The video shows footage from the game and shows the date the game will be released. In May, the developer announced that the release had been postponed to next year, without specifying a new date. The game should have been released in 2017, but was delayed several times.
Shenmue III is a game from Yu Suzuki, the developer who created the series. He worked with a small team on the game after being given the freedom by Sega to create the game. More than $6.7 million was raised through Kickstarter in 2015 to fund the development. Deep Silver is releasing the game.
Sega released the first Shenmue game for the Dreamcast in late 2000. It was one of the first open world games. Part two came out a year later. Sega still owns the rights to the Shenmue series and will release remasters of Shenmue I and II on Tuesday.
