Sharp showed at its own event in Tokyo a 31.5″ screen with 8k resolution, a refresh rate of 120Hz and a screen brightness of 800cd/m². The screen may be processed in an all-in-one PC.

In addition to the screen size, resolution and maximum brightness, Sharp only announced that the monitor on display is based on the igzo technology. Sharp has been using this technology based on indium gallium zinc oxide for many years for all kinds of screens. The advantage of the technique is that electrons move faster through the material, enabling transistors to control smaller pixels, resulting in a higher pixel density and lower energy consumption.

Sharp showed a photo of an all-in-one PC with the screen next to a monitor with the panel. According to PC-Watch, who attended the event, Dynabook is considering releasing an 8k all-in-one PC. Dynabook has been the new name of Toshiba Client Solutions, the PC division of Toshiba, since January 1, 2019. Sharp took over that division on October 1, 2018. In 2016, Sharp already demonstrated a 27-inch monitor with 8k resolution.

Incidentally, Sharp also showed a smartphone with an OLED panel that could be folded in half to make it smaller. The product has a 6.18-inch screen with a resolution of 1440×3040 pixels and can be folded and unfolded 300,000 times, Oled.info writes.
