SEGA shows several new games with Sonic the Hedgehog

SEGA is working on a remaster of Sonic 1, 2, CD, 3 and Knuckles and Sonic Colors Ultimate, and a new Sonic game. Sonic will also be a character in several new games next year, including Two Point Hospital, the Tokyo 2020 game and the upcoming Lost Judgment.

The developers have announced this in a live stream around the 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog. In the live stream, creators showcased Sonic as characters in Two Point Hospital from July 30 and the Olympic Games game Tokyo 2020 from June 22. In the upcoming game Lost Judgment, Sonic can also be played, but on an in-game arcade machine on which the fighting game Sonic The Fighters from 1996 can be played.

It was also announced that a remastered collection of old Sonic games should be released in 2022, including Sonic 1, 2, 3, Sonic CD and Knuckles, and the game Sonic Colors from 2010, which will be released on September 7th. as Sonic Colors Ultimate for the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series and S and Nintendo Switch. There is no release date of the remaster of the real old Sonic games, under the name Sonic Origins.

Sonic is also coming to PlayStation Now, Amazon’s cloud gaming service Luna and the iPhone, with three new games for PS Now, Sonic Mania, Sonic Team Racing and Sonic Forces. Those first two are also coming to Amazon’s service. For mobile, SEGA is working on several new Sonic games and an update to Sonic Forces and Party Match that will allow players to compete against their friends in private races and events. Sonic Racing is coming to Apple Arcade.

In addition, work is being done on two new animation series around Sonic, Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps and Sonic Prime. The second was previously announced and is coming to Netflix in 2022 with 24 episodes. Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps will be a two-part animated series that should be released this summer.

At the end of the livestream, the makers teased a whole new Sonic game that should come to the old and new generation consoles and to the PC in 2022.
