Seagate introduces a line of PCIe 4.0 SSDs with a high-end controller from Phision. The FireCuda 530 SSDs come on the market in capacities from 500GB to 4TB and reach read and write speeds of up to 7300MB/s and 6900MB/s for the largest variants.

The FireCuda 530 SSDs are Seagate’s fastest SSDs to date and the manufacturer is targeting gamers with the series. The SSDs consist of Micron TLC Nand memory, which is made up of 176 layers. There are 500GB and 1TB versions with memory chips on one side. The variants with a storage capacity of 2TB and 4TB have nand memory on two sides of the M.2-2280 SSD.

Combined with the Phison PS5018-E18 controller, this provides sequential read and write speeds around 7GB/s for the 2TB and 4TB versions. The smaller variants also achieve that read speed, but have a lower write speed. Seagate gives a five-year warranty and sets the lifespan at 0.7 drive writes per day, which is common for consumer SSDs.

The Seagate FireCuda 530 SSDs will be available from the end of July for prices starting at 151.90 euros for the 500GB version. The 4TB top model costs 1109.90 euros. Seagate also offers variants with a heatsink at an additional cost.
