Samsung may combine augmented reality functions in AR Zone

Samsung will combine the augmented reality functions from its recent smartphones in a single location. Currently, the different ar functions are incorporated into different apps. Presumably, the AR Zone will be introduced together with the Galaxy S11.

Currently, Samsung already offers various AR functions to users of the Galaxy Note 10 and S10 smartphones, but these can be found in different places within Samsung’s One UI. To make this more clear, the company is coming up with an AR Zone, according to SamMobile, in which all ar functions are combined. This overview would have been processed in the camera mode screen.

Features include the Quick Measure function, which uses the tof sensor in select Samsung devices to calculate the length, size and depth of an object in real time. Currently, this feature can be found in its own app. The AR Doodle feature, which lets users customize videos with AR drawings and texts, is incorporated into the Air menu of the Galaxy Note 10. The AR Emoji and Bixby Vision apps also each contain several AR functions.

Because all these functions are located in different places, it can sometimes be confusing for users to find the various features. Sources report to the site that Samsung is coming up with AR Zone for this reason. It is not yet known when the feature will be added. Currently, AR Zone is not being tested in the One UI 2.0 beta. Presumably, the feature will be introduced with the release of the upcoming Galaxy S11 smartphones. Samsung invariably announces its Galaxy S phones towards the end of winter, often at the end of February.
