Samsung announced the wireless Galaxy Buds+ earbuds at the Unpacked event. These are the successors of the existing Galaxy Buds. In particular, the manufacturer has improved the battery life, which now stands at eleven hours.

Samsung says that the Galaxy Buds + earphones without a charging case have a battery life of eleven hours, but with that box it goes up to 22 hours. The new earbuds have a battery capacity of 85mAh, which comes out to 270mAh with the charging box. The existing Galaxy Buds can last about six hours without a charging case. According to the manufacturer, the Galaxy Buds + can be used for an hour after charging for three minutes and charging is via a USB-C connection.

According to the manufacturer, the sound quality has also been improved by the updated drivers and there are now three microphones that pick up the voice during telephone conversations and suppress the background noise. These microphones are user-configurable and there is a function to amplify the sound of the environment, but there is no active noise cancellation to filter out unwanted bass while listening to music.

The charging status of the earphones is displayed in a corresponding app and the operation of the earphones, for example to play music and answer calls, is via tap commands where the user has to touch the earbuds one or more times.

The Galaxy Buds + earbuds are available in a blue, white and black variant and can currently be pre-ordered for a price of 170 euros.
