Samsung has announced the start of the beta program for Android 10 and the new One UI for the Galaxy S10 models. Samsung shows with screenshots that certain screen elements take up less space with the renewed One UI.

To participate in the One UI Beta Program, users must have a Samsung account, the company points out. The Android 10 test program is available for the different Galaxy S10 versions in multiple countries. According to Sammobile, the program went live in South Korea last weekend and at least Germany and the US will follow on Monday.

Samsung shows how the new interface is streamlined so that notifications take up less space and the user is less distracted. Dark mode automatically adjusts image and text brightness and text on the Smart Lock screen is automatically displayed so that it is easy to read.

Samsung also points to the presence of Focus Mode to temporarily pause apps and Device Care for quick access to important functions such as removing duplicate photos.
