Facebook is temporarily suspending sales of the Oculus Quest 2 due to an issue with its foam face mask that is causing skin irritation for some customers. From August 24, the headset will be available again with a silicone cover and with standard 128GB of storage space.

Starting August 24, the basic versions of the Oculus Quest 2 headsets will come with 128GB of storage instead of the current 64GB and that for the same price. The box of the headset will therefore contain a silicone cover that comes over the foam rubber attachment that comes into contact with the face. That attachment caused skin irritation in some customers, according to Facebook. According to Facebook, the skin complaints first saw the light of day in December of last year.

According to Facebook, it concerns a small number of customers who experienced skin irritation. However, this was apparently enough to temporarily stop international sales so that the silicone covers can be added to all packaging of the Oculus Quest 2. Current users of the Oculus Quest 2 and the Quest 2 Fit Pack can request the silicone covers online.
