Microsoft’s upcoming smaller Surface tablet reportedly has no Core M or Core I processors, but less powerful Pentium models from Intel. There have been rumors of a successor to the Surface 3 of a few years ago.

The smaller Surface-tablet probably has options for the Intel Pentium Gold 4410Y or 4415Y and the Pentium Silver N5000 reports Winfuture . The N5000 is from the Gemini Lake generation and runs standard at 1.1GHz with a boost to 2.7GHz. The N5000 supports ddr4 and lpddr4 memory, where the 4410Y and 4415Y do not. The 4415Y runs at 1.6 GHz.
The cheaper processors would be needed to reduce the price of the Surface tablet. There would also be a cheaper stylus. A device that meets the characteristics of a Surface ‘Lite’ tablet recently appeared at the American inspection agency FCC. It would be a variant with a 10 “screen, smaller than the current Surface Pro models with a 12.3” screen. What the price of the cheaper model is not yet clear. The Surface Pro is now available for purchase from 749 euros.
