According to rumors, Samsung has adjusted the release schedule of its upcoming smartphones. According to SamMobile, the company is delaying the release of its Galaxy S22 smartphones and the Galaxy S21 FE is now set to launch in January.

SamMobile writes based on its own sources that Samsung no longer plans to release the Galaxy S22 series in January. Earlier, the release of these devices was expected in that month. The current S21 phones were also announced and released in January.

It is not known when Samsung now plans to introduce the three Galaxy S22 devices. SamMobile speculates that the company may host an Unpacked event ahead of the MWC trade show at the end of February. The smartphone maker could also choose to show the device during MWC.

Instead of the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung is said to be planning to introduce the Galaxy S21 FE in January. The company would do that ‘quietly’, perhaps without a virtual Unpacked event. The S21 FE will be a more affordable variant of the regular Galaxy S21 devices. There have been reports for some time about this device, which would include a 6.4 “amoled screen and a Samsung Exynos 2100 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 soc.

Initially, Samsung reportedly wanted to release this smartphone in October, but recently the company reported to a South Korean magazine that this release has been postponed. The company would have considered completely scrapping the device, citing the chip shortages and the good sales of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 as the reason. According to sources from SamMobile, Samsung has decided to release the S21 FE early next year.
