According to the website Nikon Rumors, Nikon will present two different, new system cameras with a full-frame sensor on August 23. It would be the Nikon Z6 and Z7. The Z6 has a 24-megapixel sensor, while the Z7 has a 45-megapixel sensor.

According to Nikon Rumors, the Z6 and the Z7 differ from each other in the same way that the A7 or the A7S and the A7R are positioned at Sony. The Z6 would be more intended for fast action photography and low-light conditions; with a previously released teaser, Nikon already seemed to hint at its capabilities for shooting in the dark. The Z7, on the other hand, like the Sony A7R, would mainly be intended for taking high-resolution photos.

Along with the two new cameras, three new lenses would be released: a 24-70mm standard zoom with an f/4.0 aperture, supplemented by a 50mm f/1.8 and another bright lens with a wide angle of view, a fixed focal length and a maximum aperture of f/1.8.

Nikon confirmed at the end of July that it was working on a camera with a full-frame sensor. The Japanese manufacturer also announced that the system camera will receive a new lens mount and that new lenses are being developed for this lens mount. Nikon did not provide more details. The Japanese camera blog Nokishita previously reported that the code of a new Nikon website contains a timer that counts down to August 23.
