The new iPhone with the lowest suggested retail price will go on sale later than the other two, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports. Moreover, the two more expensive iPhones do not receive support for the Apple Pencil stylus.

The iPhone with the lower price has production problems, making a release in September not feasible, reports Kuo according to MacRumors. Kuo is known for often accurate information about unannounced Apple products. It is unknown what exactly those production problems are. The only major component that differs from the other models is the screen; that is an lcd instead of an oled screen.

Using the Apple Pencil on an iPhone does not provide a good user experience, so the plan to support the pen on the phone has been scrapped, Kuo says. It is unknown why that user experience would not be good. There may not be room in the housing to store the stylus, so users could easily lose the stylus. Some other smartphones have had a stylus for years, such as the Samsung Galaxy Note series.

According to the analyst, the two larger iPhones have dual SIM support, the smallest model may contain an e-SIM chip. Apple already uses those chips in iPads and the Apple Watch. An e-SIM in combination with the usual nano-SIM card slot makes dual-sim possible in theory.

Apple is expected to present the new iPhones in the week of September 9; Apple has been using the second week of September for years to show its new smartphones. Sales of the first models would then start on September 21.
