Apple will release three iPhones in 2017, but only one will have an OLED screen. That says an analyst who has often released accurate information about Apple products at an early stage. The dual camera would also be reserved for the large Plus version.

Apple would release not two, but three iPhones in 2017. It concerns a 4.7″ model with LCD and single camera, a 5.5″ variant with LCD and dual camera and a third device with OLED screen and also two cameras. The analyst does not say what size the device with OLED screen will be.

The information is published by MacRumors and comes from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has often proved reliable in the past. Last week, he said the iPhone SE will no longer be getting a successor, because this cheaper model would cannibalize sales of the more expensive iPhones.

There have been rumors for a long time that Apple will equip its devices with OLED screens from 2017. That the manufacturer from Cupertino reserves the screen to one special version is a new rumor. It is not yet clear whether Apple plans to sell the OLED model at a higher price and whether it will also differ in other areas.

Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted that the 2017 iPhone will have a glass design. Apple would return to glass because many cheaper devices are now made of aluminum.
