Apple plans to announce new MacBooks at the end of October that no longer have USB type-a connections. The MagSafe power connection would also clear the field. Presumably, the 11″ MacBook Air will disappear and only the 13″ model will get a refresh.

The new MacBook Pros that Apple is going to announce will be equipped with USB type-c and Thunderbolt 3 interfaces, claims the Japanese site MacOtakara. This site previously correctly predicted the arrival of the iPad Pro and the iPhone 5. The site reports that it has received the information from a ‘reliable Chinese supplier’. Apple is set to announce the new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros on October 27.

The company has not yet sent out invitations to any event. The last update of the MacBook Pro series dates back to May 2015. There have been rumors about an imminent introduction of new models before. Apple would also provide the laptops with an OLED strip above the keyboard and support for Touch ID.

MacOtakara also reports that the 11-inch MacBook Air will disappear, but the 13-inch version of the Air will still receive an update. This laptop would also have a USB-c port and Thunderbolt 3 support and no longer have USB type A and MagSafe. Further details about the specifications of the MacBook Air 13″ are not yet known. The laptops will probably have Kaby Lake processors from Intel.
