Respawn releases first major update for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Respawn Entertainment has released its first major patch to improve the performance of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The update is now available for the PC version of the game. A patch will be released on Tuesday for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S variant.

The PC update should fix certain issues with rendering the game without ray tracing, it promises EA in a tweet. The publisher provides few details about the patch, but goes into more detail about the console update. It shows that all versions of the game include some bug fixes. In addition, certain crashes, visual glitches and collision issues should be fixed. Also, specific issues that only appeared in the console version of the game must be fixed. Respawn says it is working hard to fix even more technical issues.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released after a month and a half delay on April 28 for the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. Not long after, the game was being used by users on, for example, Metacritic and Steam inundated with negative reviews due to technical and performance-related issues. Critics speak of persistent frame drops, crashes and overall poor performance. Electronic Arts apologized for the game’s disappointing state upon release.
