Respawn Entertainment has pulled the first Titanfall game from sale. The studio announces that. The company does not give a concrete reason for this, but does report that the multiplayer servers of the game will remain online.

Respawn Entertainment writes on Twitter that the first Titanfall, which first came out in 2014, will be withdrawn from sale from Wednesday. The game is therefore no longer for sale in digital stores. On March 1, 2022, the game will also be removed from subscription services, such as Xbox Game Pass. Gamers who already own the game can continue to play the online multiplayer; Respawn reports that the game’s servers are not shutting down.

The company also reports that it will continue to support the Titanfall franchise in the future. Titanfall is the core of Respawn’s DNA and this universe will endure today in Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends, and into the future. Respawn has not officially announced a new game in the Titanfall series yet.

The studio has not given a concrete reason for this decision on Twitter, but the game has been struggling with problems for some time. Servers of the Titanfall franchise were released earlier this year touched by some ddos attacks, writes Polygon. As a result, the game was repeatedly unplayable. Several players on Steam are also complaining that Titanfall is regularly unplayable by a hacker, who can crash the game’s servers. It is not clear how many players the game has left. On Steam, where the game became available at the end of 2020, the number of concurrent players is regularly at twenty or less, according to charts from SteamDB. However, that excludes players on other platforms, such as Origin and consoles.
