Resident Evil Village will be released worldwide on May 7 and will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One in addition to the PS5, Windows and Xbox Series X. Capcom announced this during a video presentation on Thursday. At the same time, Resident Evil Re:Verse will be released, a multiplayer deathmatch game. Players who have purchased Resident Evil Village can play Re:Verse for free.

Resident Evil Village was first announced in June of last year and hinted at the multiplayer game earlier. Resident Evil Village follows the story of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The game revolves around main character Ethan Winters. He has to look for his kidnapped daughter in Lady Dimitrescu’s castle and the nearby village.

Unlike most other Resident Evil games, Village is completely first-person. It brings back Resident Evil 4’s inventory management system, supplemented with medication and ammunition crafting. In addition, the merchant returns, where players can buy all kinds of weapons and ammunition.

Resident Evil Re:Verse was created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series. In the third-person game, players compete as one of the well-known characters from the Resident Evil series: Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, Leon S. Kenney, Nemesis, Hunk, Chris Redfield, Ada Wong and Jack Baker. The game takes place in the well-known Raccoon City Police Department to fans. In addition to other players, there are also monsters from previous Resident Evil games. In terms of style, Re:Verse is completely different from Village. Photorealism is exchanged for cell-shaded graphics.
