Renders have appeared online showing what the Nokia 9 will probably look like. The device in the renders has a dual camera and the housing lacks the 3.5mm jack for headsets. The phone has thin bezels and is therefore not too wide.

According to Compareraja, who collaborated with the generally reliable OnLeaks for the article, the dimensions of the device are 140.9×72.6×7.5mm, although the device comes to 8.9mm at the camera bump. It is a dual camera, just like the Nokia 8. The 8 has a setup with a regular Bayer sensor and a monochrome sensor. This makes it possible to blur the background of a photo and of course to take black and white photos.

Just like the Samsung Galaxy S8, the Nokia 9 would have a curved screen with thin edges. A speaker can be seen above the screen at some distance from the edge. The site claims that it is a 5.5 “OLED screen. That would result in bezels of 2 mm per side, while at the top and bottom a total of about 20 mm remains.

It is unknown when the Nokia 9 will be released. That probably won’t happen until next year. This year, HMD has released four Nokia devices so far, with the numbers 3,5,6 and 8. There have been rumors in recent weeks about the 2,7 and 9, all three of which should appear on the market in 2018.

HMD is the company that has a license to the Nokia brand name. Nokia itself no longer makes smartphones and has focused on, among other things, network equipment and health applications. HMD consists largely of former employees of Nokia and the mobile arm of Microsoft.
