The first renders of the cheap BlackBerry smartphone made by Foxconn have come online. The device will probably be called BlackBerry Z3 and would have a 5 “screen with a resolution of 960×540 pixels.

With that diagonal and resolution, the number of pixels per inch is 220, a much lower sharpness than BlackBerry previously applied in the Z10 and Q10, among others. The details of the phone, which is codenamed Jakarta, appeared at N4bb.

The list of specifications also shows that the Jakarta has a 2650mAh battery, almost the same size as the 2880mAh battery of the Z30. The phone runs on an undisclosed dual-core soc with a maximum clock speed of 1.2GHz in combination with 1.5GB of RAM. The storage memory would be 8GB.

The Jakarta is the first BlackBerry developed and produced by Foxconn. Through the deal with Foxconn, BlackBerry wants to get devices to the stores faster and for lower prices. N4bb says that the device can be seen next week at the Mobile World Congress telecom fair. However, BlackBerry is not there and Foxconn only has a booth to promote its 4g branch.
