Insomniac Games will release an update in April that will allow the remake of Ratchet & Clank to play at 60fps. The 3d platformer now runs in 4k resolution at 30fps. The game is free to claim for all users with a PlayStation account until the end of March.

It is not yet known when the update will be released, but the developer reports that it will arrive in April. Insomniac mentions in a tweet only 60fps, not the resolution or other improvements. The version for the PlayStation 4 Pro runs in 4k resolution at 30fps; presumably that resolution will remain the same and the frame rate will be doubled.

Ratchet & Clank came out in 2016. It is a remake of the first Ratchet & Clank game from 2002. The game was already included in the PlayStation Collection for PS5 users and is also temporarily available for all players with a PlayStation account to add to their library for free, as part of Sony’s Play At Home giveaway. Players do not need a PlayStation Plus account for this.

Insomniac is also working on Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. That new game in the Ratchet & Clank series comes out exclusively for the PlayStation 5 on June 11. That game uses ray tracing at a frame rate of 30fps, but also gets a 60fps mode.
