POCO announces two devices: the M5 and M5s. The budget smartphones have a Helio G-soc from Mediatek and a 5000mAh battery. POCO says they focus on gaming with the M5, while the M5s should offer ‘all-round entertainment’.

The POCO M5 has a 6.58″ LCD display with full HD resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. There are three cameras on the back: a 50-megapixel main camera, a 2MP macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth camera. The front camera is in a punch hole and is 5MP.

Furthermore, the smartphone has a MediaTek Helio G99 soc, which is built on the 6nm process of TSMC. The M5 is available in a version with 4GB or 6GB ram. The battery capacity is 5000mAh with a charging speed of up to 18W.

The other device, the POCO M5s, has a 6.43 “amoled screen. However, there is a lower refresh rate of 60Hz. The smartphone is powered by the somewhat older 12nm Helio G95. Here too, the battery capacity is 5000mAh, but the M5s does offer the option of 33W fast charging.

The cameras on the M5s consist of a 64-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with a 118-degree field of view. There is also a 2MP macro and depth camera. The selfie camera has a 13-megapixel sensor, again processed in a punch hole.

The POCO M5 will be available from September 12 in black, green and POCO yellow. The device gets a suggested retail price from 189 euros for the 64GB version. The 128GB variant costs 209 euros. The M5s is also available from that date, in gray, white and blue with a suggested retail price starting at 189 euros for the 64GB model. The 128GB version has a suggested retail price of 209 euros. The devices are available until September 17th for twenty euros less.
