PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Windows Trial Gets Game Replays

Spread the love

Replays have now been introduced on the Test Server version of PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds. The feature records all player actions within a mile of the player, allowing users to review it and freely change the moment and perspective.

With this update, ‘PUBG’ will automatically save the last 20 matches for replay purposes, as players actually check this option in the menu. It is unclear whether recordings can also be stored permanently, or whether it is only a matter of time before new recordings push existing replays out of the storage space. A timeline is visible on the screen and players can pause, adjust the speed, switch player perspectives, move the camera around a player and move the camera freely within that one kilometer radius. Finally, the game also keeps track of the battles that players get into in real time, so that they can be easily searched.

The developer also reports that in the future there will be the option to choose the map, instead of being randomly determined by players. This has been asked a lot because since the release of the desert map players often leave a game when they see that they are placed in the old map. The studio does state that it will take time to ensure that this option does not produce too many player subgroups, which would hinder smooth matchmaking.

This is the third iteration of what South Korean developer PUBG Corp. the 1.0 Test Build. The game must leave Steam Early Access on Wednesday, December 20. The game has been in Steam Early Access since March this year. The Xbox version of the game was also released on December 12, although it currently suffers from quite low frame rates, especially on the original Xbox One. Nevertheless, Microsoft is giving away the game with every Xbox One X from December 17 to 31.

The Test Server is a separate PUBG client that game owners can find in their Steam Library and must download separately from the regular game.
