A playable version of StarCraft: Ghost, a third-person shooter announced by Blizzard in 2002, has surfaced on the internet but has never been released. The playable build is said to have been made for an Xbox devkit.

Multiple YouTube channels, such as Stranno and Delso Bezerra, show how they progress through different missions of StarCraft: Ghost. According to Andrew Borman it’s a build that’s been circulating anonymously on various Xbox groups, and since the first videos appeared online a month ago, the build for the Xbox devkit seems to have been going around for a while.

Blizzard announced StarCraft Ghost in 2002 for Gamecube, Xbox, and PlayStation 2, but after multiple delays, the company canceled the game in 2006 because it wasn’t happy with the outcome. The game revolved around the covert ops-Terran Ghost Nova. Years later, Blizzard was rumored to have another shooter in the StarCraft universe in development, under the project name Ares, but the company would also have scrapped that version to focus on Diablo and Overwatch.
