More photos of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 have surfaced online. It can be seen that the pcb of the card is a lot smaller than the cooler mounted on it. It is also noticeable that there is no connector for connecting a sli-bridge.
Earlier rumors already spoke of the lack of sli support for the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060. The photos published by the Polish website PurePC seem to confirm that. The photos have since been removed from the website, but TechPowerUp, among others, put them online after publication. Although the GTX 1060 has a shorter cooler than the GTX 1070 and 1080, the pictures show that the pcb of the video card is still a lot shorter.
It is not clear whether the card in the photos is equipped with 3GB or 6GB vram. It is rumored that Nvidia is making two versions and it is not certain whether sli support is missing on both versions. With the GTX 1070 and 1080, Nvidia has limited the sli support. It is only possible to combine two cards. Arrangements of three or four cards are still possible, but there is no support in the drivers that improves games.
Officially, Nvidia has not released anything about the arrival of the GTX 1060. Earlier a photo leaked out and VideoCardz published slides last week that seem to come from Nvidia itself. The manufacturer then praises the GPU as a model that offers GTX 980 performance. According to Nvidia’s own figures, the card is also fifteen percent faster than the AMD Radeon RX 480. According to rumors, Nvidia will officially announce the GTX 1060 on July 7 and the video card will be available a week later.
