Photo shows ‘GTX 1060’ video card

An image of what is said to be the GeForce GTX 1060 has surfaced on the internet. It is a reference card that seems to get a housing and cooler similar to those of the GTX 1070 and GTX 1080.

The photo of the video card has appeared on Reddit and the claim is that it is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060. The photo is said to have been taken in Hong Kong. The video card contains the text GTX 1060 and it can be seen that the pcb is relatively short.

In addition, the transparent window of the GTX 1070 and 1080 is missing. The card probably contains a cheaper cooler than the vapor chamber of those two models, but the fan seems to be identical. Nvidia will release two models of the card according to Benchlife: a version with 3GB of memory and a GP106-300 GPU and a 6GB variant with GP106-400.

Videocardz reports that Nvidia is expected to announce the GTX 1060 after AMD makes its Radeon RX 480 available. The official release date of AMD’s new RX 480 video card is Wednesday.
