A photo has appeared of the Huawei L410. That would be the first Huawei laptop with its own Kirin-soc on board. The box shows various specs of the upcoming laptop, which seems only intended for the Chinese market.

Huawei has been making laptops for years, but so far they have only been equipped with Intel and AMD processors. The L410 would get a Kirin 990, the box states according to a Weibo post from a well-known leaker. The Kirin 990 first appeared in the Mate 30 pro smartphone a year ago and featured two ARM Cortex A76 cores at up to 2.9GHz, two A76 cores at up to 2.4GHz, and four A55 cores at up to 2, 0GHz, assisted by a Mali-G76 MP16 GPU at 600MHz. TSMC made the soc on its 7nm line, partly with euv.

The laptop has 8GB of memory and a 512GB SSD. The laptop is equipped with a 14 “screen. The size of the laptop is not on it, but the whole package is 2.25 kg according to the packaging. The laptop does not run Microsoft Windows like Huawei laptops in Western countries, but the Chinese , Linux-based Deepin OS 20. Later, the laptop would also run Huawei’s own HarmonyOS, an operating system that is currently based on Android.

It has been rumored before that Huawei would like to use its own socs for laptops and desktops and the L410 is the first example of this. Apple switched to its own Arm-socs this fall with the new MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and Mac Mini.
