Peugeot has shown the e-Rifter, an electric passenger car variant of Peugeot’s delivery van Partner. The e-Rifter will have two variants, Standard and Long, with the Long variant having two extra seats. The e-Rifter has room for five passengers as standard.

The Peugeot e-Rifter is built on the EMP2 platform, just like the Peugeot e-Partner van, the Opel Combo-e, the Opel Combo-e Life and other models from Opel and Peugeot’s parent company PSA. Many specifications of the electric Peugeots and Opels therefore correspond. The e-Rifter gets a single electric motor that delivers 100kW or 136hp and 260Nm. This allows the e-Rifter to accelerate from 0 km/h to 100 km/h in 11.2 seconds. The top speed of the electric MPV is 135 km/h.

The e-Rifter will have a 50 kWh battery, which, according to Peugeot, should be possible for a range of up to 280 kilometers based on the wltp standard. Peugeot does not report whether it concerns the Standard or the Long version. Given the presumed extra weight of the Long variant, Peugeot is probably talking about the Standard version.

For charging, the e-Rifter comes standard with an 11kW three-phase charger, which should allow a full charge in five hours. Full charging via a 16A socket is ready within 15 hours, charging with an 8A socket takes 16 hours longer. The e-Rifter can fast charge with a maximum of 100 kW; this means that the car can be charged to eighty percent within half an hour.

Peugeot has redesigned the e-Rifter’s center console and gives it new transmission controls. This allows, for example, a forward or reverse gear selection and allows the user to choose between the three driving modes of the e-Rifter. With Eco, Normal or Power, the user can specify how much power the electric motor should deliver. The transmission lever also allows the user to select a heavier regeneration setting. The e-Rifter comes standard with analog counters behind the wheel, but can optionally be equipped with a 10″ display.

The Peugeot e-Rifter is less than 1.90 meters high, has a turning circle of 10.80 meters and is 4.40 meters long in Standard version. The Long variant is 35 centimeters longer and also has a longer wheelbase. The luggage compartment is 775 liters under the parcel shelf, which increases to 4000 liters with all seats folded in the Long variant. The electric MPV has a maximum towing weight of 750 kilograms. Sales of the e-Rifter will start in the second half of 2021, Peugeot has not yet given a price.
