The Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has presented the Nord Buds, its cheapest wireless earbuds to date. The earbuds do not have active noise cancellation, but are resistant to splash water.

The earbuds have 12.4mm drivers, OnePlus says. Those are slightly larger drivers than the OnePlus Buds Z have, the brand’s cheapest earbuds to date. The manufacturer has put four microphones in the earbuds to filter out background noise when using the microphones.

According to the manufacturer, the 41mAh batteries in the earbuds last for 7 hours, while the 480mAh battery in the box provides a total battery life of 30 hours. The earbuds also have five pogo pins for fast charging at 0.75A at 5V, giving users 5 hours of listening time after 10 minutes. The splash water resistance only applies to the earbuds themselves and they have an ip55 rating.

On OnePlus phones, the earbuds have a low latency mode, which limits the delay of audio to 94ms. You can’t do that on other phones. OnePlus will release the Nord Buds next week and asks 49 euros for the earbuds. The Buds Z2 cost 99 euros at release, while the Buds Pro had a suggested retail price of 149 euros.
