Nikon has released seven new Coolpix cameras. It concerns two cameras with a large zoom capacity, two models with extensive vibration reduction, a sturdy Coolpix for travelers, a camera that can quickly take raw images and an affordable family camera.

The Coolpix S9700 and S9600 distinguish themselves with their hybrid vibration reduction over five axes. Both cameras have a 16-megapixel sensor, 3″ LCD with 921,000 pixels, Wi-Fi connectivity and support for GPS, but also for the Russian navigation system Glonass. The difference between the Coolpix S9700 and S9600 is the optical zoom capacity: the former is 30x and at the second 22x, the S9700 will cost 359 euros and the S9600 269 euros when they go on sale February 27.

The Coolpix P600 and P530 have to make do with 60x and 42x respectively of their optical zoom capacity. These are cameras with a 16-megapixel sensor that can shoot serial shots at up to 7fps, among other things. The 3″ LCD is tiltable. The Coolpix P600 and P530 cost 469 and 359 euros respectively. The P530 will hit the shelves on February 13, the P600 two weeks later.

The most important feature of the Coolpix AW120 is that Nikon has made it extra robust for use during travel. It should be able to withstand the shock of a 2 meter drop, as well as being water resistant to 18 meters and frost resistant to -10°C. To make things easier for travelers, GPS and Glonass support is also available. The 16-megapixel camera will cost 359 euros at its appearance on February 27.

The P340 has a lower resolution with its 12-megapixel sensor, but the camera can shoot raw images. The presence of an nd filter ensures that longer closing times can also be used in high light conditions. The suggested retail price is 379 euros. Finally, Nikon introduces the cheaper S32 model. The Coolpix S32 is a 13-megapixel model that is shockproof up to 1.5 meters and will cost 109 euros.
