Ember Lab has announced its debut game Kena: Bridge of Spirits. The game is about Kena, a young Spirit Guide, who explores an overgrown forest and an abandoned village. The game will be released later this year for PlayStation consoles and PC.

According to the makers, the game world of Kena: Bridge of Spirits is full of ‘timid and elusive spirits’. They maintain the balance in the forest by decomposing rotten elements. In the game, players must collect Rot, which they can use to develop skills and transform the environment. The trailer shows how Kena turns a withered patch of forest back into a green scene. The game, according to the description, features an ‘unforgettable storyline’ and fast-paced combat.

Sony showed the game on Thursday during its PlayStation 5 presentation. The game will be released for Sony’s new console, but also for the PlayStation 4. It is a timed exclusive; At a later date, the game may also come to other consoles, but details about that are not yet known. A PC version will also appear in the Epic Games Store at the end of this year. An exact release date has not yet been announced.

Ember Lab is a new independent game studio consisting of fourteen employees. The makers will receive support from Sony for making the game. In 2016, the studio already released the animated short Majora’s Mask – Terrible Fate. That video is a tribute to the Zelda game of the same name.
