According to AppleInsider, we can get a new iPod Mini early next year to expect. It would be a model with a storage capacity of 5GB, which means an expansion of twenty-five percent. There are also some rumors about new colors and a ‘metalic’ finish, but no further details are known besides the capacity. Hitachi, which produces the hard drives for the iPods, has not yet announced a 5GB drive, but these are already available from Seagate and Toshiba. The iPod mini was introduced in January, but was initially difficult to deliver due to a lack of 4GB drives from Hitachi. Presumably, people will therefore be extra vigilant to prevent these problems with the 5GB model.
