New Android One entry-level smartphone Nokia 2.2 will cost 119 euros

HMD announces the Nokia 2.2. The Android One smartphone in the 2 series gets a suggested retail price of 119 euros. The device has, among other things, a 5.7 ” screen, a battery of 3000mAh and a MediaTek Helio A22-soc. The phone is expected to be released in mid-June.

The Nokia 2.2 is the first smartphone in the 2 series that falls under the Android One program, HMD states in a press release. The phone has, among other things, a MediaTek Helio A22-soc, a 5.7” screen with a resolution of 720 by 1520 pixels and 2 to 3GB of RAM. Furthermore, the smartphone has a battery of 3000mAh and a micro-USB port to charge the phone or transfer files. The amount of storage memory of the device is 16 or 32 GB, which can be expanded with a micro-SD card with a maximum memory capacity of 400 GB according to the manufacturer.

There is support for using facial recognition to unlock the smartphone and the device also has a 13-megapixel camera and a Google Assistant button. The device can be equipped with interchangeable Nokia Xpress covers. These covers come in the colors Pink Sand, Ice Blue and Forest Green.

The device will be released sometime in mid-June and has a suggested retail price of 119 euros. HMD also indicates that the Nokia 3 from 2017 will receive an update to Android Pie. The company provides its phones with regular updates for two years and monthly security updates for three years.
