Netgear introduces its WAX214 and WAX218. These access points will have support for Wi-Fi 6 and offer a gigabit and 2.5 gigabit Ethernet connection respectively. The WAX214 will be available for 120 euros, while the WAX218 model costs 230 euros.

The WAX214 and WAX218 feature 802.11ax radio and can connect to 2.4GHz and 5GHz devices. The two access points offer respectively a maximum theoretical bandwidth of 1.2Gbit/s and 2.4Gbit/s on the 5GHz frequency and maximum throughputs of 0.6Gbit/s and 1.2Gbit/s on the 2.4GHz band.

Both access points support up to four separate subnetworks, each with its own SSID. The WAX214 and WAX218 are powered with an ac adapter but also support Power-over-Ethernet. Netgear does not supply an ac adapter as standard, although the manufacturer of both variants also introduces a PA model with power adapter. The company does not mention suggested retail prices for those variants.

According to Netgear, the WAX214 has a maximum range of 125 square meters per access point. With the WAX218, this is increased to 175 square meters. The manufacturer does not report any technical details about the two models. For example, it does not specify which processor is being used. Both models are available immediately, according to Netgear. At CES, Netgear also introduced a router with Wi-Fi 6E.
